About PRP

Many patients all over the country seek out nonsurgical options to resolve their hair loss issues and present them with a fuller, restored hairline. One method that Dr. Clinton Webster offers at his Oklahoma City, OK practice is PRP, (platelet-rich plasma) therapy. PRP is taken from your own blood and injected into areas that need a boost in collagen production and elastins. Commonly used on the skin as a healing and smoothing technique, it is also effective when injected into the scalp. The PRP's restorative properties are able to stimulate hair growth in areas that are experiencing balding and fewer hair follicles. This injection can encourage new follicles to grow in place of old follicles. We invite you to contact Revive Robotic Hair Solutions to learn more about this technique.

Best Candidates for PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)

The best candidates for PRP therapy will have:

  • Minor hair loss and early stages of balding
  • A desire for a natural, nonsurgical approach
  • Had little success with other nonsurgical methods
  • Had a hair transplant and desire an extra boost of collagen for faster healing

What to Expect with PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)

The first step to this procedure involves drawing a small amount of blood. Once the blood has been drawn, we can separate out the PRP from the rest of the components. It is then injected into the scalp in the areas that are experiencing hair loss. We offer a numbing cream or anesthetic to help make the procedure as comfortable as possible. This is generally a quick outpatient procedure with little to no downtime afterward.

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Anticipated Results

We usually recommend around eight treatments spaced out about two weeks apart for the best results. It is also important to follow all aftercare instructions. Since this treatment relies on the gradual process of the hair cycle and collagen production, it can take anywhere between 2 – 6 months for your results to appear. However, once the hair has grown in, it should be long lasting.
